Helping Us To Help Others
Initial support for Mpilonhle has been provided by the CTOAP (Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project) and OAN (Oprah’s Angel Network). Both organizations provided the financial and logistical support required to launch the program. Most importantly, they have provided encouragement to overcome the hurdles that surfaced in establishing such a program.
- AMD through its 50x15 initiative generously supported the establishment of the computer-training laboratory, with the donation of equipment and advice on design. SANGOTECH provided software for the laboratory.
- The KwaZulu Departments of Health and Education have provided support and close cooperation for the program.
- The second and third mobile units will be supported by a generous grant from PEPFAR (the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) and the United States Agency for International Development.
Technical support has been provided by a number of groups working as part of the Mpilonhle team:
- East Coast Architects designed the mobile units, and
- Capilano Manufacturers built the units
- Perlcom designed and developed the mobile computer laboratories
- Inyala Security helped ensure the safety of the Mpilonhle staff

" I learnt to take care of my body and be clean. I learnt that I should behave and give others respect and that when I must not abuse or take drugs and alcohol. I learnt that I must give those who are HIV Positive love and not discriminate them. "
