The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project was an initial supporter of the Mpilonhle program, together with Oprah’s Angels Network, . They first provided funding to Mpilonhle beginning in March 2007. CTAOP, along with Oprah’s Angel Network, provided funds for all of the start-up costs of Mpilonhle – including program and curriculum design, and design and purchase of the original mobile unit.
CTAOP remains an active supporter of Mpilonhle, providing funds for Mpilonhle’s sports and health program. CTAOP’s founder and director – Ms. Charlize Theron – a frequent visitor to the project.
