Health screening
Each year every student is offered a one-hour health screening. Conducted by a health screener and counselor, services include voluntary counseling and testing for HIV with appropriate support and referral for those who are infected; screening and care for other sexually transmitted infections; and screening, counseling, and referral to the mobile unit nurse as required for tuberculosis, pregnancy care, hypertension, asthma, substance abuse and mental health problems. Students also receive counseling on family planning, nutrition and exercise, and mental health, with referrals to a social worker if required.

" I was afraid to go to the clinic and test for HIV. I was happy when Mpinhle came to school. The gave me counselling and I was tested. They never asked a lot of questions like the nurse at the clinic. I am happy I tested Negative. "
