The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project and Oprah's Angel Network provided lead funding to create the Unit.

Approximately 3,000 students at four high schools will now have access to on-site nursing services, have regular visits with a health and HIV counselor who will also offer voluntary counseling and testing for HIV, computer education, and go through four 90-minute workshops on health education, with a special focus on preventing HIV. The unit will visit each school - Nkosana, Silethukukhanya, Madwaleni and Nhliziyo - for one week each month. This is the first of three units planned by Mpilonhle to serve the district.
