The visit was supported by Woolworths, which was the major contributor to the construction of the soccer field and lighting at Silethukukhanya School. Lucas was scheduled to come for the official opening of the field in May, but was unable to attend because of illnesses.

In 2005, while creating the Mpilonhle program, Dr. Bennish approached health education specialists at Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC), a Boston-based non-profit with expertise in HIV prevention in South Africa. Bennish and EDC's Scott Pulizzi met in Durban to design the program's elements, with an eye to developing materials to address HIV risks and promote other healthy behaviors.
