GENERAL

The health unit comprises a pair of identical but mirrored trailers with fold out screens and a covering tent/awning that forms a 'teaching space' between the parked trailers. Each trailer comprises 2 counselling rooms and 3 storage lockers for storage of tables, computers and various other items necessary for the operation of Mpilonhle.

The trailers must comply with all legislative requirements for use on public roads
within the Republic of South Africa.

CHASSIS

Aluminium construction using 5mm thick channel sections for the main members. Cross members are also aluminium of no less than 3mm wall thickness. The straight sides are 5mm thick aluminium angle. Half the angle width serves as
a fixing point for the side frames.

The trailer 'A' frame is constructed using 5mm thick aluminium channel sections. A tandem 'Rubberide' axle of 1800kg each is fitted together with a braked coupler. A heavy duty jockey wheel is provided. 14” 7J rims with tyres are provided plus a full spare wheel i.e. 5 per trailer.

BODY

All body panels are vacubonded and incorporate the following components:

  • 25mm square aluminium tube frames
  • 24DV polystyrene insulate
  • 6mm plywood
  • Interior & exterior cladding/skins are GRP (fibreglass)
  • each skin is 2layers of 450g chopped strand fibreglass
