South 32
Mpilonhle conducts round the clock Covid 19 screening services for South 32 employees, including contractors, visitors and deliveries. Up to 1200 persons are screened per day with a staff of 58 Mpilonhle employees comprising of professional nurses, temperature scanners, administrators, and 2 drivers. Other services include work assessments for employees returning from sick leave or quarantine, data capturing, record keeping, and information sessions.
Covid Response Initiative
Funded by the Department of Public Works under the EPWP programme, 174 community members were recruited and trained by Mpilonhle to work on the COVID 19 response programme in the uMkhanyakude District. Services include community information sessions on promoting hygiene strategies, assisting in quarantine facilities, tracing of contacts and triaging patients in clinics and hospitals.
In collaboration with Richards Bay Minerals, Mpilonhle distributes food parcels to the community working with the local authorities to identify households in need.
